Qualifier Round Motions
Under 18
Mandatory vocational programs should be introduced in all universities for all under-graduate programs.Under 16
Developing nations should prioritize educating children who show potential rather than educating everyone equally.
Under 14
Students should be allowed to select the subjects they want to study.
Format
- Each debate will have 2 debaters. One arguing “For” and the other “Against” the topic.
- Each debate will have 4 speeches. Order of speaking and content will be:
- Speech 1 - Arguments by the “For” debater
- Speech 2 - Arguments by the “Against” debater
- Rebuttal 1 - Rebuttal by the “For” debater vs the “Against” debater’s speech.
- Rebuttal 2 - Rebuttal by the “Against” debater vs the “For” debater’s speech
- Each Debater will be assigned a Side (For or Against) randomly by our Team and will be communicated to the debater on Wednesday, 15th July, along with the Zoom video call invite
- The Motions for the Finals will be different from the Qualifier motions. They will be shared with the Finalists on Friday, 17th July, when the results are announced
- Details around judging criteria and how to structure the rebuttal will be provided in the Prepbook along with best practices for debating. It will be shared with all registered participants for the challenge.
- The Qualifier is not a Knock-out competition. The Top 4 Debaters in each age category, based on their individual scores, will be moving on to the Final round on Sunday.
- On Sunday, the top 4 will compete in knock-out semifinals leading to the Top 2 who will battle it out in the Finals to decide the Winners of the Debating Challenge #2

Qualifier round : 16th July, Thursday, 3-9 pm IST
Your debate will be in a 15 minute slot during the 1 hour window you choose while registering. Your exact slot time and Side will be communicated to you on Wednesday, 15th July by 7 pm IST.
Final round : 19th July, Sunday, 11 am - 12:30 pm IST
